Abstract

This article offers a comparative study of the etiquette of the coronation speeches of the British monarchs from the Windsor dynasty. Coronation speeches are of particular importance as they reflect historical traditions and symbolism, as well as the obligations of monarchs to the people. Through the analysis of speech data, one can discover common features and differences in the speech etiquette of various monarchs. This study provides insight into the formality, style and use of protocol formulas in coronation speeches. The results of the study help to better understand the etiquette and symbolism, as well as the historical evolution of the speeches of the British monarchs of the House of Windsor .
