Abstract

This article is devoted to the problems of studying units of lexicology, including abbreviated units. There are 3 types of abbreviations according to their source: mastered abbreviations; abbreviations; divided into autochthonous abbreviations. The concept of abbreviation has been interpreted in the interpretation of various structural languages. The creation of new words as a result of abbreviations, the reduction of existing words in some places at the level of intelligibility also has a number of disadvantages.
