Abstract

The recent political events emphasised the degree of political misunderstanding between the government and the vast majority of Georgian people. One might ask how it is possible to withstand antidemocratic pressure coming from the Georgian Dream (GD) political trajectory and it will be legitimate however, the challenging one to answer. As a matter of fact, on the 26th of October 2024 elections in Georgia is going to take place. The latter is expected to play a decisive role in georgian politics and work as a democratic mean to replace the leading power as many believe. The vast majority of Georgian people were actively protesting a controversial law known as the Foreign Agent Bill. At this point, recently when the law was adopted many had a feeling of déjà vu because the same exact law was proposed about a year ago then when the massive protests made it possible to withdraw it in the end. However, as it turned out it was just a temporal manoeuvre as the GD was planning to accept it later by any means.
